At first glance, the work appears to depict a humorous situation: an overcrowded vehicle filled with characters squeezed tightly together, literally overflowing from the shell of a turquoise-blue bus. But as one lingers on the details, Modified Crossroads reveals itself to be a modern allegory of human turmoil, a social fresco as much as a personal inner journey.
